I am a quilter living in Woodbridge, Suffolk who has made quilts since I was a teenager. I also ring bells! Both are great British traditions....I will try to feature some of my antique Welsh and Durham quilts, the quilts I make myself, my quilting activities and also some of my bellringing achievements. Plus as many photos as I can manage. NB: Double click on the photos to see greater detail, then use back button to return to the main page.

Jen Jones - Llanybydder shop

First stop on Saturday was Jen Jones' cottage shop at Llanybydder. The sat nav wanted to take us in another direction, but I recognised the crossroads after several visits and steered us in the right direction. Hazel was there to welcome us.

The upstairs is very atmospheric, with the better quilts being displayed on beds.

Downstairs, some of the many Welsh blankets and shawls for sale.

Some of the "better" quilts hanging, on sale...

Hanging downstairs, surrounded by woollen blankets .......a moth trap. I too worry about moths....

This cottage is apparently bigger than many of the cottages of that era, it is twice the size of the usual cottage....the smaller cottages must have been very cramped....

Interesting applique quilt top in turkey red fabric....

Downstairs, some interesting bric a brac.....Mike took many photos....

Yet more blankets...

And the tapestry blankets. These are really warm on a bed, and long lasting.
