Thanks for those! The central pattern is lovely and unusual - at least, I don't recall seeing something quite like it. The ever increasing spirals, the web-like swags between, the curved border leaves (are these variations on the standard beech leaf?*) and the little cable twists give the design a lot of movement. *Mary Jenkins shows how to mark those curved leaves in her Welsh Quilts book.
There is a also a picture of a quilt with a similar center in Mary Jenkins book. I have seen the leaves in the boarder on several quilts in different book and it was called "Bent Leaf". Maybe there are different names for it!

ReplyDeleteI am so impressed by the graduated spirals. They begin on the same side of the spiral and end in exactly the same place within the spiral. Amazing.
